Scoring from the Junior Stock Judging Competition at the New Westminster Fair on September 6 shows Cranbrook placing second in the district event with Stewart McClune winning Dairy Cattle and placing third in Beer Cattle. Allan Keer placed sixth in horses and John Clark third in Dairy Cattle. Separately, a CP Rail visitor party headed by President Beatty toured Cranbrook, Kimberley, Lethbridge, and Calgary, noting mine and concentrator progress and four special trains through Calgary.

Car Destroyed by Fire on Roadside Saturday Night
Fire swept a roadside car belonging to Henry Barr of Wasa after it left the Fort Steele to Cranbrook road Saturday night. The five passenger wire wheeled vehicle burned instantly after a broken gasoline line and the flames leaped high. Barr could not salvage groceries from the rear seat and the total loss is reported.

Rotarians Host City School Staff as Guests
At Tuesday evening sessions the Rotary club invited city teachers from the high and public schools.
