Deadly Wreck of iPROOENGER Train No 6b Near Fitzgerald

Train No 514 derailed at Fitzgerald near Witgerald after a switch jump, killing engineer J F Cain and fireman H H Fowler. Rescuers found Cain scalded to death and Fowler also perished. Conductor Reeber unhurt but shaken. Seventeen injured including passengers from Lethbridge Medicine Hat and Kelso. Officials list nine dead or injured with multiple severe injuries and amputations.

A complimentary banquet was given for J S Teet the Y M C A secretary for two years at the local Y M C A dining room. He and his wife left for Cartier Ontario. Alberta Statistics co authored by Commissioner Hotchkiss show the province’s population rising by about 90 000 to 100 000 in the past fiscal year to 500 400. Ottawa Ontario reports Sir George Ross former Ontario premier was chosen leader in the Senate to succeed Sir Richard Cartwright. Senator Bostock of British Columbia had 18 votes to 25 for Ross. Dandurand will serve as assistant leader. Ross’s health had limited his attendance prior.
