The Great War Veterans committee gears up for a Monday Victoria Day celebration in Cranbrook May 24 featuring children's shows at the Rex theatre, baseball, horse and foot races, boxing, and dancing. A 22 piece Nelson Great War Veterans band will perform, with admission set at 75 cents for adults and 26 cents for youths, while lodging and train schedules are arranged to accommodate visitors. At Knox Church Parish Hall Cranbrook women hosted a table tea with Miss Amy McKowan who spent eighteen months with the American Red Cross in Siberia. The event drew a representative audience of local women who enjoyed music by Helen Worden and Mr. Reugger, plus Mrs Ryckman’s piano accompaniment. A vote of thanks closed the program led by Mrs Maharg with ex-president Mrs Barney.

Salvation Army to stage big holiday musical program
Fernie Salvation Army presents a two day event led by Bandmaster W A Harrison and Capt H R Gray. On Saturday May 22 at 8 p m in the Auditorium Theatre the Fernie Silver Hand of 24 pieces performs dialogues recitations solos duets and marches. Tickets are 25 and 50 cents.
