A lengthy reminiscence recounts the 1885 discovery of the Bunker Hill Sullivan mine in the Coeur d’Alenes, its staking by Kellogg and O’Rourke, and later extensions by Sullivan. It covers legal battles over grubstakes with Cooper & Peck, court verdicts, a Portland sale bid, and eventual payments to participants, including O’Rourke, Kellogg, Sullivan, and others, ending with a description of the firm’s buildings and later losses in fire and foreclosure.
