Yahk Thrives as CPR and Spokane Lines Meet
Yahk has become a busy junction on the Crow line with CPR and Spokane International routes converging. The Walk Timber mill near Yahk will cut 35 000 feet daily by August, while two stores and the Yahk hotel report thriving business. Nearby Corson station moved to Yahk, a 330 foot platform built, and yard fire tracks planned to be avoided.

Murdoch Mackenzie a logger with East Kootenay Lumber at Jaffray was killed instantly when a log fell from the deck while he helped load a car about six miles into the woods. He was a native of Prince William Island and was buried at Cranbrook.
