Fernie July 6 report shows no settlement progress in the strike. White miners are leaving town while the Slave workers stay. Coke shortages threaten Fernie area smelters and broader business with 350 tons needed daily by Boundary plants.
Directors note 640000 shares in St Eugene Consolidated Mining Co Ltd with dividends totaling 210000 and cash on hand of 125359.67. Development includes 200000 tons ore blocked, shaft sunk 140 feet, level 125 feet below shaft, and planned double ore in sight with diamond drill proofs. Porter Bros contracts to quarry 100000 tons ore from Granby mines at Phoenix with option for 5 million ton expansion.

J A Harvey of Fort Steele and the firm Harvey Mc Carter Pinkham visited Revelstoke and returned home. Their influence led Revelstoke townsmen to form a syndicate that now controls 15 000 acres of prime coal sands in the Crow's Nest Pass.
