Miss Celia Jardine Completes Cranbrook Visit and Farewell
Miss Celia Jardine left Cranbrook Tuesday morning for Salt Lake City. Friends in Cranbrook regret her departure as she returns home after making many acquaintances during her stay. The Fort Steele Mercantile company announces a big bargain sale next Saturday offering prim er goods at low prices. Arrangements begin for a first class hockey team with Sydney Colton as captain and Is J Peltier as president. Ben Huckle, recently returned from South Africa, reports 15 East Kootenay Strathcona Horse members died, but names are unclear. Fred Frith plans lumber for a Moyie hotel with William Hamilton, targeting early March start. The Herald wishes the new partnership prosperity after recent fire losses.

Moyie Mine Resumes Ore Haul and New Town Projects
Ore from the Society Girl mine is again being shipped to the Hall mine smelter in Nelson, with four teams moving about 16 tons daily as owner Chas Farrell plans to deepen the ore body. The waterworks board moves to lay 4 inch and 3 inch mains along Victoria street and Queen's avenue, aiming hydrants along the route. Moyie Brewery workers from Nelson fit up casks and tubs, with 15 barrels daily capacity and ice storage plans for 1500 tons. A marriage at the Kootenay hotel unites MacKenzie and Miss Kagan, followed by a wedding journey to New York and beyond.

Infant deaths of Wyncoop and Doyle families
The infant daughter of Mr and Mrs Daniel Wyncoop died and funeral services were conducted Monday at the residence by Rey Fortune and Reid. The mother woke Sunday morning to find the baby dead. On Friday January 16 the baby girl of Mr and Mrs Charles Doyle died and funeral services were held at the Mission on Saturday by Father Ouelette.
