Father and Son Banquet Strengthens Local Faith Ties

The Father and Son movement gains ground across Canada with a Cranbrook banquet led by Mr. Taylor Statten. In Baldiv, Presbyterian and Baptist Taxis and Viail Ranger groups hosted sixty fathers and thirty boys for a joint feast with toasts celebrating fathers and mothers and the boys’ program. A boxing bout between two preachers capped the evening as attendees praised the movement’s role in shaping youth, and church activities continue with lectures, music recitals, and upcoming Father and Son events in Knox Church and the United Church circle.

Consolidated shares unlikely to split to broaden ownership

Directors oppose dividing the stock citing current high prices and limited benefit. An year end analysis shows about 200,000 shares held by 2,000 holders excluding Canadian Pacific shares, averaging roughly 100 shares per person. The firm is an operating producer and wide distribution would burden rather than help the company, given that CP and long term investors hold a large, nonmarketable stake.
