Cranbrook Poultry Show Highlights 22 Entries and 11 Styles

The Westi Columbia Poultry Association annual show in Cranbrook drew 22 entries with top honors going to Mr. H. Palmer who swept utility and dressed poultry categories. Special awards included best female White Orpington and a silver shield, while other victors included C. R. Sheppard and W. R. Gibbs. The meeting at City Hall outlined future plans and member turnout for Alberta and local shows.

Lectures and Demonstrations on Cooking by Miss Hays

The Women's Institute offers four two day lecture courses and cooking demonstrations by Miss Hays of Nelson Public School. Event to be held at the Parish Hall on December 28 and 29 with afternoon and evening sessions. Free to members. others may attend for 60 cents, granting annual membership.

Tennis Dance Social at Harish Hall Closes Season Trophies

An informal Tennis Club dance in Harish Hall last night drew a congenial crowd. The Cranbrook Orchestra provided music while Mr. Raworth hosted. Prizes for summer tennis events were presented, including two silver cups and an ebony vase donated by Mr. Rawerth, with AH Metiwaine named winner of the men's championship.

Prompt arrival of fire brigade saves house on French Avenue

Firemen fought a Thursday night blaze that took hold in the attic of Mrs. Little's home on French Avenue. Prompt arrival and effective firefighting kept the fire from destroying the residence owned by Jos McLean.

Prize winners listed for American Tournament final results

Mrs Moth leads a list of prize winners across events including H Mellwaine in Men's Single, Miss B Pye in Ladies Singles, Miss BK Gill with H Mellwaine in Mixed Doubles, Miss D Drummond with Miss D Wallinger in Ladies Doubles, H Mellwaine and D A Kay in Men's Doubles, and Mrs MecKowan with Rumney in the American Tournament.

Christmas Services at Nok Church Knox Presbyterian

Christmas will be observed at Knox Presbyterian Church with Rev. W. K. Thomson delivering morning and evening sermons. An augmented choir and orchestra under R. W. Russell provide music, including solos, hymns, anthems, and instrumental pieces. Services feature "An Old Time Hymn" and "Christ, the Prince of Peace" as the principal sermons.
