Popay and Puddifoot Trials at Surrey Sessions
At Surrey Sessions on Sept. 12 Popay, a discharged policeman, was found guilty of assaulting William Dean and fined one shilling. Elizabeth Puddifoot, a Blackman Street barmaid, was convicted of stealing employer funds and sentenced to transportation for fourteen years.
