The Late Lord Holland Lifelong Liberal Whig Leader

The late Lord Holland, third Baron Holland born 2 November 1773, led Liberal Whig causes in the Lords. Despite infirmity, he was a key cabinet supporter as Chancellor of the Duchy and a prolific literary figure noted for his protests on Napoleon and the life of Fox. He married Elisabeth Vassall in 1797, linking to the Webster and Fox families, and held roles as Recorder of Nottingham and Receiver General of Glamorgan.
