Surrender of Ramgur Fort Announced After Siege
The report from Calcutta on March 7 states letters from the Right Honorable Governor General indicate the fort of Ramgur surrendered at 3 PM on the previous day. British forces, including two infantry companies, pioneers, and irregulars, tightened the siege. after days of bombardment and breached walls, the garrison capitulated at sunset with arms and colors surrendered.
