Milne Receives Royal Honors for Algiers Action

The London Gazette records King George grants Rear Admiral Sir David Milne permission to wear the Royal Sicilian Order of St Januarius and the Royal Military Order of William of the Netherlands for his role as second in command at the 1816 Algiers assault. Also notes arms registration at the College of Arms and lists average grain prices, bankruptcies, and certificates.

Army Promotions and Commissions at the War Office

Royal Regiment of Horse Guards and 11th Light Dragoons receive officer reassignments by purchase or exchange. Promotions include Lieut.-Colonel Childers and Lieut. A.
