Cotton market shows strong demand and ship rescues near Horseferry
In October a brisk cotton market saw 15,000 bags sold in three days with rising prices except Egyptian and East India. Monthly sales hit 83,300 bags, exports and forward sales noted, while near week end demand eased though prices remained steady. Harlequin captain Corbin saved a stranded ship near Horseferry by using steam power and a hawser, preventing total wreck.
