Interesting Discoveries At Old Dock Revealed Ancient Pool Bed
Report on excavations for the Dry Dock corner shows deep submarine strata, a marl bed with tree trunks, peat and stag horns found 30 feet below quay level. Notes indicate a wooded ravine once occupied the site before sea incursion and trace the Old Pool as Liverpool's cradle of commerce.
