Lord Tenterden Dies After A Long Illness At 71
From the Morning Chronicle obituary notes Lord Tenterden died at his London home after a prolonged illness. Born October 1762, he rose to Chief Justice of the King's Bench in 1818, famed for rapid, precise rulings and a Tory leaning. His career included a noted rivalry with Lord Ellenborough and a reputation for safeguarding authority and press interests. He leaves two sons and two daughters and passed away in his seventy-first year.
