Parliament Debates Orford Harbour Bill and Gaol Fees
In the House of Commons the second reading of the Orford Harbour Bill drew division on the drought era costs under the new Custom House measures. The Lords read a record time on the Gaol Fees Bill and the Wardrobe Bill. The Earl of Salisbury presented a London City petition opposing the Gaol Fees Bill while noting no undue city burden. The Duke of Montrose presented a county petition against parts of the Circuit Jury Act. The Lord Chancellor said objections noted were addressed in the Act. Ferintosh laid on the tables.
