A late 18th century ad column lists bids for ten couples of high quality harriers and two pointers to benefit the starving Irish, with prices and contact details. It also advertises a show at the Delfal Theatre and a grand London Hospital physician election notice, plus a sale of freehold clothing mills near Bath with extensive property details and viewing arrangements.
An 1822 Whitehall account by H Hobhouse details England exclusive of Wales from 1815 to February 1821. It lists yearly gaol commitments under Game Laws, counts of convictions in courts and quarter sessions for Game Law offences, and summary convictions before justices including numbers per year 1816 to 1820.
The Court of King's Bench at Wisrunston did not sit on Midsummer day January 2. Lord Chief Justice held a sitting of Nist Prius for the trial of undefended causes and rose at half past ten.
To the editor of the Courier East End Finchley the writer defends against John Bull libel and deflects claims about a Tavistock-square visit. He disclaims puff pieces and laments harsh press comment while praising press freedom and his public service. At Brighton on Sunday last the lady of Dr Blair gave birth to a son. At Bist last the wife of J H Merivale Esquire of Woburn Place bore a daughter. At Naples on the 98th April the wife of Charles Selwin Esquire Down Hall Essex bore a son DIED. Patrick Thomson Esquire of Northaw Hertfordshire died in his 75th year. William C A Dent Esquire died after illness at Buchendon Bury, Hertfordshire, at his father's house on the 23d inst.
