Market prices at Newgate Leadenhall and Covent Garden

Heat reduced trade at Newgate and Leadenhall markets with carcass prices per stone ranging from 6d to 38 6d and pork from 2d to 4s 6d while mutton and lamb quoted in shillings and pence. Covent Garden reports a fine display of in season fruits and vegetables and steady demand with prices similar to recent quotes.

Kings appoint Fergusson and Hay to high offices

In the London Gazette of June 20 a royal directive announces letters patent under the Great Seal creating the office of Advocate General or Judge Martial for Robert Cutlar Fergusson and appointing Andrew Leith Hay as Clerk of the Ordnance.
