Lords Debates Irish Affairs and Petitions Read
In the Lords on June 4 Sir J Garannac and others moved private bills including the Greenwich Church and Marylebone Watching and Paying Bills. Petitions against the Catholic Peers' Bill were presented. The Marquis of Lansdowne requested tables of Irish quarter sessions actions and Ecclesiastical Court cases. A Surrey tanning patent petition and a Greenloee Norfolk distress petition were discussed. The Lord Chancellor objected to petition wording. Lord Suffield pressed to present a strong petition, which was rejected. Adjourned.
