A Court of East India Proprietors discussed a pending Parliament bill finalizing accounts up to April 30 1899. The dispute centered on a £5 682 216 balance, government deductions, and a net settlement of £1 300 000 to be paid to the Company plus a 500 000 conveyance from its treasury in October to extinguish debt. The chairman noted the abandonment of a 900 000 claim for Ceylon and Eastern Isles as settled.
