Ice jam on the river above Glasgow’s navigable area broke under thaw and rain. Four vessels broke loose while crews battled massed ice from Batherglen-bridge to the Steamboat quay. Some were recovered. others drifted toward Renfrew and the Saw Mills with no damage. A Cheshire man jumped onto the ice and was rescued. two boys were detained. Frost returned next day.
