A crowded Guildhall gathering celebrated reform triumphs with calls to oppose Tory ministers and defend liberties. Speakers praised London electors, denounced bribery, and urged continued efforts for a reforming administration while pledging to sustain the cause against resistance.
Sir Samuel Waartey emerged to loud cheers after the poll closure as results showed Bulwer and Horne with strong numbers. Waartey thanked supporters and framed the victory as progress for reform defeating Tory obstruction. He promised a dispatch to the King validating electors’ will.
