Insolvent Debtor Bound Over to Terms in Westminster Case
In Maidstone Insolvent Debtor’s Court dated January 8, Mr Popplewell of Westminster and Wm Parkin represented the creditor against coal merchant Wa Hart. Hart admitted debt for seven tons of coals and alleged deficiency in weight, but Popplewell and his carman testified the weight was correct and a prior complaint was dismissed. Court sentenced Hart to ten weeks confinement for nonpayment and default in prompt settlement.
