House of Commons Adjourned After Sparse Attendance

In Tuerspar on February 20 the Speaker entered the House around four o'clock but with only thirty six members present, an adjournment was necessary until tomorrow.

Young Preston Boy Charged With Stout Street Theft

At Town Hall Preston a boy named James Whiteside aged about 10 was charged with robbing another boy. The Mayor ordered him sent to the house of correction for one month after evidence that he habitually attacked peers and seized their belongings in the streets. The Preston Chronicle reports.
