A fire at East end of Exwang and Joserii worsted mill in Darlington destroyed machinery and wool within three hours. The roof collapsed after about 90 minutes, engines ran through the night, and damage is put at 5000 with only 7000 insured. Five hundred workers face long unemployment as crowds gathered from miles around.
