Petition on Divorce Bill and Jury Trial in Scotland
In the House of Lords on February 16 Lord Montford presented a Mrs Lee petition alleging poverty prevented legal opposition to her husband’s divorce bill and promising evidence to dispute his relief. The petition will be considered next Tuesday. The Lord Chancellor announced the withdrawal of a prior Civil Trial by Jury in Scotland bill and the first reading of an improved bill for jury trials.
