Royal patent grants and bankruptcies in London Gazette

The King directs letters patent appointing Frederick Jol. Robinson as Chancellor and Under Treasurer and William Huskisson as Treasurer of the Navy. Bankruptcy notices list many debtors such as R Bradshaw, J Smith, W Stephens, RB Wright, J Newland, J Winscom, J Beaumont, H Porter, and others with dates for surrender or appearances. Dividends and certificates noted, and partnerships dissolved including G Treaclard with W Gapper, C Rylands with H D Malins, J Ridge with T Scurr, and others across England.

Writs Enable Extra Sessions for King’s Bench in Westchester

In Westchester the Loan Cuter Justice announced a royal warrant allowing two or more judges to sit in vacation to dispatch business. The warrant permits sessions in a designated room from term’s end, with two judges to preside while others handle terminable business. The Lord Carer Justice emphasized the arrangement’s purpose and asked for clear understanding.

Court of Exchequer Rules on New Marriage Act Case

The court considered a femme sole defendant underage at marriage with lacking spousal consent. Plaintiff sued for the debt, defense based on coverture, and after the new Marriage Act changed the plea, the judge granted stanov processus to avoid full costs on an absolute rule. Murder of Mr James Smith of Lewisham

At Greenwich Bench on a murder case the prisoners James Smith Robert Smith and James Webster were examined and discharged for lack of sufficient evidence while grounds of suspicion remain strong. The clerk Mr Bicknell urged justice but withheld an imperfect case. Other suspects have left the country.
