Spitalfields Relief Meeting Ends With Broad Support
A late 1816 meeting in Egyptian Hall organized by Lord Mayo resolved to receive and approve an address describing local distress. A subscription was formed to aid Spitalfields Poor, with many notable supporters named and thanks offered to Lord Mayor for facilitating the gathering.
