Final judgment on Colonel Labedoyere by revision council

Yesterday eight o'clock the Council of Revision confirmed the judgment against Colonel Labedoyere after objections about the council’s competence and procedure. The King and Madame Labedoyere faced public distress as Allied forces shift, and reports note Ney’s Paris arrival, Wellington’s banquet, and a royal pardon pledge amid ongoing peace uncertainty.

Execution of Labedovere Verdict Shocks Paris

The Courier reports the Court of Revision confirmed Labedovere's sentence. At six thirty p m guards escorted him to Grenette, where after a kneeling Benediction, he urged the veterans to aim true. He begged his wife and mother for pardon, but his wife received no mercy as France demanded punishment for the war’s calamities. The act strengthens the government’s grip and peace, but ministers of Buonaparte share guilt. the King also issued an ordonnance declaring hereditary peerage for current and future peers in the Chamber of Peers.

Extract of a Private Letter on French Turmoil and Loyalist Hopes

The writer laments continued French political chaos under Buonaparte’s partisans and the fear of renewed upheaval. Reports cite Labedoyere’s alleged plots and executions, Allied sovereigns’ cautious stance, and fears of mobilizations in the north and Naples. Suppressive actions, royal perseverance, and troop movements color the era as Europe contends with tyranny and shifting loyalties.
