Thirteen-year-old in custody over bank note incident at Holborn

A boy about thirteen was brought to the station with two ten pound notes found in his possession after visiting a fishmonger's shop in Holborn. He claimed to have found the notes on the road near the White Hart. A letter to Miss Rogers and more letters were later found. The boy was released on promise to return for further inquiry about Miss Rogers. Several bystanders had also picked up letters and envelopes tied to the mystery, suggesting a broader involve ment or robbery.

Currency fears and reform call in steady national view

A dated economic reflection discusses gold and silver currency effects, Bank of England paper, and the need to expand country circulation to aid industry. It contrasts 1810 and 1831 bank activity, warns against misapplied monetary policy, and urges full inquiry into national economic health. It also notes Burke history volume additions and a malaria epidemic mention with Balsam of Aniseed in London cases.
