Staiots Accident to Mr Ballantine in London Street
Thames Police Magistrate Mr Ballantine was jolted from his horse when a Stratford stage coach thrashed past in Lendenhall Street. He sustained a head injury and remains at Hampstead in a dangerous condition. The horse was nearly ruined. The accident became known only after Saturday. A local naturalist described a rare white headed blackbird shot at Ratcliffe and mounted by Mr J Mellows.
