Lieutenant David Davies of the 63rd Regiment is held for further examination on a charge of firing a pistol at Lord Viscount Palmerston, Secretary at War, in the War Office stairway. Palmerston and surgeon Astley Cooper testified that the weapon did not wound the body, with uniforms torn by powder and ball. a pistol and six balls were recovered from a man detained nearby.
