Disfranchisement Petitioned in Dublin and London
Earl Grey notes two petitions on the Forty Shilling Freeholders disfranchisement in Ireland. One from Irish natives in London signed by Lord Killeen and others. the other from St Mary, St Thomas, and St George parishes in Dublin. Petitioners thank the government for relief bill but fear it may sweep away 200,000 to 300,000 people.
