Cotton and sugar markets show firmness and quiet in Havre and Marseilles
In Havre on February 17 cotton held firm with buyers for 180 bales at varied currencies and small Havannah coffee lots sold in bond. Sugar sales were limited. Carolina Rice and Rio Hides moved modestly, while New York Pearl Ashes remained stagnant. In Marseille from February 12 colonial sugar stayed calm with four Bourbon vessels arriving. coffee declined with Rio bags set for delivery and spot sales down.
