Current currency for Pekoe remains steady as fair business continues in better black and green teas. Cotton demand is less brisk but values hold and supply is not more plentiful.

Market report notes no change in hay clover or straw prices yet demand has diminished, leading to slower rates. Buyers and sellers observe softer activity though price levels remain unchanged.

The market later cooled but remained firm with 10 000 bales traded, including speculative and export activity, and a wide range of commodities such as sugar, rum, coffee, cocoa, pepper, and rice noted with varied prices and volumes.
The week saw varied sales across salts, nitrates, guano, dyes, oils, fats, and textiles. Saltspetre sold 1200 bgs chiefly 28s 3d to 28s, nitrate of soda 50 tons at 188 per cwt, guano 800 tons with multiple per ton ranges, dyeswood sales include Campeachy Logwood at 7 58 to 7 10s, Jamaica and St Domingo at 5 to 5 9s 6d, and Savanilla Fustic at 5 5s. Oils steady with Sperm at 87 10s per ton, linseed moderate at 31s 6d to 32s per cwt, palm oil limited at 33 to 33 10s per ton. lard and tallow prices fall, hemp steady, jute damaged bales up 10s per ton. Industrial goods like brimstone and tartar remained weak, while berres and madder roots showed limited activity.
Bradford opens with scarce spinners awaiting London sales and firm prices. Chair Alpaca and English goods remain short with few sales to manufacturers or shippers. Stocks do not accumulate. Pieces show strong demand for new designs and still-favored circassions and mixtures despite cost limits. Other goods show no change.
Bristol on February 4 notes quieter sugar prices and steady refined produce with modest demand. Rum remains neglected while yarns show strong domestic and export demand. Prices in Domestics rise. Nottingham on February 3 reports lace steady with expected improvement and hosiery and yarns holding steady.
Sugar arrivals in Savannah are meager with 60 000 boxes contracted at 24 to 24 1 or 24 ? for cucuruchos and 4 to 45-16bs for white. Old stocks total 10 000 to 12 000 lxs in poor condition. Molasses sold at 24 to 33 rs per 5 gal. Tobacco crop expected large but largely inferior leaf. Printing and publication details from London printers noted.
