Report from Melfort Saskatchewan tells of two trappers and a companion Cummings venturing north to Lake for fur. One trapper Crummidge dies from starvation as provisions run out. Cummings abandons food and eats his dogs before dying. Diary notes reveal despair and longing for home.
The Bisrecurra Turf Club holds its annual meeting on Easter Monday April 17 with stewards and officials listed. Races include handicap trials and pony events across six furlongs to five furlongs, with penalties, entries due by Sator Day April 5 and weights to be published in the Argus and local papers.
