Nasty accident in Harbor district injures man and spurs militia call

Saturday morning a man named Allen was badly cut when a crane arm struck him during a truck maneuver. He required three stitches and was taken to Koronit for treatment. The incident sparked a militia appeal as residents discuss forming a branch of the Australian Defence League to defend the town. Debenham will collect names of volunteers and arrange a meeting to organize the effort.

Obituary of Mrs Hannah Howell of Dorrigo and Sawtell

Mrs Hannah Howell aged T0 years widow of Edwin Lane Howell M A LED of Sydney died at Sawtell on Friday last. She was eldest daughter of the late John Hall a Blue Mountains contractor. She resided at Dorrigo and Sawtell since 1914. Known for charity and patient nursing, she volunteered to nurse at a temporary hospital during the Dorrigo epidemic. Her brother Ellis Hall is a Queensland farmer. Funeral at the Church of England Cols Harbour Cemetery on Saturday, Rev L Ferrin officiating.

Bridge collapse blocks Mastbank Road traffic in mood

Last week's mood caused a bridge on Mastbank road near Wil Vanson's to collapse on the western side. No traffic can pass, forcing lorries to travel extra miles. A large tree blocked the road to town on the Koform Central Bucro route.
