June 10 1910 the Public Works Committee examined the Galenreagh to Dorrigo line’s feasibility and resolved to construct from Glenreagh to Dorrigo via Burhman s Range. The 41 miles 37 chains line would cost about £343 146 to build and fully equip with annual running costs around £18 553 and earnings near £5 148. a deficit of £10 405. The Chief Commissioner for Railways noted local gains from improved facilities and rapid district development with earnings rising as the line expands.

Harbor Port Question Raised At Ratepayers Meeting

At the Tuesday meeting Mr. MacNamara urged writ ing to the Premier to back Coff's Harbor as a potential port site over Port Stephen's or Kyron Bay. Bank Manager's Lapse at Sydney Court

Shire Severance Moves Toward Dorrigo Decision

The Coffs Harbour ratepayers moved a step closer to finalizing the shire severance at a Corumba conference with secretary Mr P K Power seeking four delegates for a June 15 meeting at Dorrigo. The Woolgoolga Progress Association supported the move but could not field four delegates. Delegates were instructed to vote for straight-out separation. a unanimous vote in favor was recorded.
