Travelling post office to serve North Coast readers
After years of agitation, the North Coast will gain a travelling post office on the train from South Grafton to Sydney. The six days per week service aims to speed mail delivery, ease congestion at Sydney GPO, and sort mail on board for districts along the line. The introduction may still be delayed, but work proceeds as circumstances permit.

Full Time Librarian At Coffs High School
Mr. R Forbes has been appointed full time librarian at Coffs High School with library practice lessons for all classes. Headmaster Mr C G Lauder notes these efforts give children confidence in using books. In the year 290 additions were made to the library including donations from Dr Hawke Mrs Crawford and Mack Martyn with thanks. Borrowings by staff and pupils were greater than ever.
