Coffs Chamber of Commerce pushes for better goods shed facilities

At a Friday meeting the Coffs Chamber of Commerce urged the Railway Station to upgrade the goods shed to handle rising traffic. A motion to approach the Commissioner for either substantial additions or a new shed was carried. The gathering also planned social events, discussed footpath issues, education land near the Jetty, and the annual meeting in March.

Milk Suppliers Report Moves Toward Coastal Association

At the February meeting of the Coffs-Orara Milk Suppliers Association Secretary A P Small outlined a trip by the executive to study forming a broader Milk Suppliers Association from Taree to the Tweed. Despite support at many towns, officials agreed current difficulties would stall a new body while continuing to study milk supply and distribution.

Beach inspectors to face annual surf life saving test

The Department of Local Government informs coastal councils that beach inspectors will be required to pass an annual test in surf life saving work.
