The Club hosts a well attended evening with Pullen's Band in the library. Members decorate, serve supper, and dance outdoors as the Social Committee raises funds for hall construction. Committee aims to organize more events as demand grows.
A Saturday street stall for the Far West Children's Health Scheme collected £8 5s 6d. Ham won by Mr H Burgess of Moonee Street and bananas won by Mrs Herring of Park Beach. Organisers thank supporters and send season's greetings.
Music by Ted Woods delighted the crowd with capable support from C. Sowter and Mal Donaldson on piano and bagpipes. Diggers Scope Crew Cookesley Dowling and wives provided splendid catering. Digger President Huston thanked the diggers for assistance as Ray Gunn and Edwards fulfilled tasks to everyone's satisfaction.
Sawtell CWA welcomed three visitors Mesdames Quinlan Simmons and Miss Thompson from Coffs Harbour Inverell and Sydney. President Mrs Gray extended greetings and gifts of gardenia were presented. Members praised Mrs Quinlan’s help to the movement and wished her well in Broken Hill.
