Methodist Church Overseas Missions Sunday services listed for Cobram at 8 30 am led by Rev W Wood and 7 30 pm by Mr Wood Strathmerton holds an 11 am service with Rev Wm Ellis for church anniversary and a 7 30 pm service led by Rev W K Bartlett.
The notice lists 11 am service at Scots Church Cobram and 3 pm at Katamatite and Yarroweyah at 7:30 pm with Rev. Neil Scott BA as minister.
Jill Bellis daughter of Mrs C Bellis and the late Mr P Bellis of Barooga marries William Zieleman eldest son of Mr and Mrs E Zieleman of Cardiff Newcastle attended by family.
The Methodist Ladies' Guild celebrated a birthday Friday at Shire Hall with visitors from Numurkah Katamatite Steathmer ton Berrigan Tocumwal Yaroweyah and local church representatives. The program featured duets by Mrs Cowan and Rev W Ellis, recitations, a humorous sketch The Obstructive Hat and competitions won by Mrs Cowan and Mrs Creighton. A cake by Mrs Powles iced by Mrs Doug Guthrie was cut by Mrs Marindale and pieces given to all attendees. Afternoon tea concluded the event amid abundant flowers.
Mrs Crosby hosted a gift party at Cobram Scot's Church for Miss Gloria Evans ahead of her wedding to Mr Geoff Cooper. The afternoon featured music and games arranged by Mesdames Crosby, Brookes, and Miss Nancy Dunn. Guests offered well wishes and gifts to the bride.
Barnett shot a net 65 off handicap 18 to cut his handicap to 17, with many younger members admiring his consistent scores. Mixed foursomes saw Steward and Mrs Wiltshire win with 68 net, while numerous other scores from club members were reported.
