Cobram State School Picnic Planned by Parents Group

A Cobram representation of parents decided at a recent meeting to hold a school picnic on a Wednesday in November. The Cobram A and I Association will be asked to permit use of the show grounds. Katamatite Cricket Club Annual Meeting Promotes Association

The Kata matite Cricket Club held its annual meeting in the hall with a large attendance. Officers named include President T Quin, vice presidents J Jones Blake and Elliot, secretary Quilkey, and captain P Parnell with H L Sidebottom. Delegates Pilgrim and Bradstreet were appointed to attend a Youanmite meeting to form an association with Tungamah Dookie Katandra Youanmite and Katamatite. Donations from Quinlan Elliott Mills Blake Pilgrim were received, and 24 players attended a practice match with promising form. A challenge was issued to Cobram for a match next Saturday.

Obituary of Thomas Nunn Pioneer of Murkayah District

The small roll of original pioneers loses Thomas Nunn of Murkayah who died at Coonara Private Hospital Melbourne at 63 after spinal paraplegia. Born Kalispowtod, he moved to the district 22 years later and left a widow Miss Mac Fitzgerald at Kroger. Survived by seven children Matthew John Esmelda Mary Gerald Vincent and Leo. He was known as a prominent breeder and horseman, shaping the Cobrin grazing station era before his burial. The family conveyed the body by train to Cobrin and a large funeral gathered to honour him.
