A prank rang the church bell at St Margaret's Cobram early Thursday causing the Cobram Fire Brigade to respond despite it being a false alarm. Rainfall from the weekend flood reaches Cobram East Lalaby Boomanacoomana with 75 points by Monday morning and 24 more by Tuesday. Local notices mention bakery sale transfer to Mr Hosie, a minor motor crash in Station Street causing minor damage, and upcoming community events at the showgrounds and in Tecumwal, including stock sales and a recreation reserve tender.
The Cobram Bowling Club begins its 1997-38 season with a Wednesday night start on October 27 at 8 o'clock.
