Private Young Reported Prisoner of War in Burma Camp

Mrs R O Young of Tecoma received a letter dated September 30 stating Private Young is a prisoner of war at Moulmein in Burma. He earned a0 cents a day and noted friends held at the same camp. Eldest son of Mr and Mrs C F Young Lasaly he was a Methodist Home Missionary before enlisting in 1940 and sailing with the first troops to Singapore in February 1941. News since the fall of Singapore had not been heard for over 19 months.
