At the Waterworks Trusts Association annual meeting in Melbourne last week A R Wadeson of Cobram was elected vice president and E Batey of Youanmite joined the executive. Both serve as commissioners of the Tuogamah Water Trust. W T Rowe of Katanga has recovered from a serious illness though his arm remains limited. Harry Neil Bowen aged 72 was found dead at Yarroweyah North with a magisterial inquiry opening. Bowen, once a Strathmerton resident, was buried in Tocumwal cemetery. Mrs Harry Calman of Cobram is a daughter. T Schoknecht, born in Cobram and a former Bank of Australasia teller in 1907-09, died in Melbourne at 42.

The Yarroweyah State School held a successful Wednesday picnic with races for all pupils, a stage dinner, and a hall dance to raise funds. Guests included Miss L. M. McLeod. prizes were awarded to numerous boys and girls across age groups. door takings cleared £4 14s, net £2 4s 6d after expenses.
