A Bishop of Riverina will conduct the service at Barooge Parish Hall at 3 p.m. Sunday. Scott Denson, late of Strathmerton, a farmer, left £2424 realty and £430 personal estate to his widow, children and grandchildren. Several local injuries are reported including Mrs G Crammond of Finley and Mr B E Howell of Yocum Et with recent bicycle and railway yard incidents. A long-time Geelong Post Office staffer, J mberiain, is honored prior to promotion. An accident impact is noted in Tollamore with a had operation. Chief Officer A McPherson led a Friday night inspection of the Cobram Fire Brigade. Captain Shad forth was thanked on retirement for service since 1908. At a Cobram Turf Club meeting on Friday the committee agreed to donate profits from the next race meeting to the Mechanics Institute, with net profit reported as £13 15s. The club noted increased gate receipts and called for a stronger program, including a Cobram Cup, as discussions covered whether to fund the Institute or the Mooroopna Hospital and how to handle a £2000 overdraft.
Barooga's shire officers celebrate the electricity scheme with a switch on led by Dr E Way. A parish grounds concert followed, with Canon Williamson and local residents praising the project.
