The secretary Mr. E. A. Cole reports a letter from Governor R. W. Evans acknowledging receipt of a donated catering order dated 7th August. Evans thanks the fund and expresses reciprocal pleasure in both sending and receiving the provisions.
Morrison and Teare and At Numarkeh announce trust money lending at current rates. Mr Newman visits Cobram daily, 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. A special invitation is extended to their wives and any interested person to attend, issued by Friendship Club J Elpridge N.G.

A clearing sale at Katamatite North drew strong attendance with livestock and farm gear sold. Music pupils from Numurkah and Melbourne Conservatorium succeeded in Melbourne university exams. Military YMCA service figures are highlighted, with large wartime attendance and medical stories from Papuan patients. An upcoming social by the Cobram Presbyterian Fellowship is announced.
The Methodist Ladies Guild held a successful annual church fair with decorated stalls, afternoon tea, and games. Winners included N Gattuso and Mrs Ratcliffe on a cake weighers, Jean Powles for length of string, and Mrs W Quick for a beans in a bottle guess. prizes ranged from a Mings cake to a knitted bed cape.
At the Barooga Cobram Agricultural Bureau annual meeting officers were elected including President P. Rossetter, Secretary Backhouse, and Auditor Cotton. Discussion covered losses, railway siding expansion, and citrus price comparisons with other fruits. The association noted concerns over factory fruit pricing and discussed future projects.
War figures note 158 221 entrants with 114 253 air crew members under the British Health Air Training Plan by the 25th. About 1 500 000 tons of artificial shes moved towed across and assembled on open sea. The United States is expected to contribute at least 100 000 PAE bringing in from Britain about £1 130 000.
