The dearly loved wife of David John Field died on October 28 at her residence Sydney Road Euroa Adelaide. She was mother of Mrs Bell and grandmother of Mildred and Bos of Cobran.
The Katautslite Bush Nursing Association accepted A. Blundy of Northcote for building the cottage hospital at £1575. Cobram area social events include dances at Mechanics Institute and welcome gatherings. Electoral notices remind compulsory voting with penalties and a big stock sale set for Cobram on 7 November. A Paris cable notes Hubert Opperman as France’s top cyclist in a referendum by L Auto.
Obituary notices report the death of Mrs W Milroy aged three in Melbourne and the passing of Mr F Quinane at 57. Milroy previously taught in state schools at Barmah Cobram and Coluussehouki with services in Nathalia Cemetery. Quinane, born in Burramive, lived at Barooga Hotel and Barooga Station before settling at Tun gamwah, died after a paralytic stroke with interment at Cobram cemetery and a large funeral cortege. He leaves a widow two daughters two sons and a sister Mrs Quinane. An infant Patrick Quinane aged 23 months died of pneumonia on Wednesday afternoon at Cobram.
In very cold and wet weather at Nu wurkah Wearne from Numurkah made 11 and Athol Downs of Cobraw starred as Nuwarkal declared at six for 114. Cochran took three for 1% as Cobram chased but time ended with them behind.
